You may have some practical questions and/or you want to know what to expect. Below are some frequently asked questions and responses. Please contact me should you require further information.
I am considering scheduling an appointment, what can I expect?
The first three sessions will be used as assessment sessions. The purpose of these sessions is for me to get more information about you – a history of your personal background, a good understanding of your reasons for seeking therapy and your expectations of therapy. These sessions also give you an opportunity to get a sense of who I am, how I work and if you are comfortable working with me. These sessions will be billed for at the full fee.
I have decided to begin psychotherapy, what happens next?
Once we have established a working relationship and you have decided to begin with psychotherapy, we can then make a joint decision on the frequency of your sessions (between one to three sessions) per week and set a weekly session/s time which will then become your regular slot. The frequency of your sessions will depend on your particular therapeutic needs.
Do you take medical aid?
The practice accepts medical aid with a co-payment required. With regards to medical aid payments, the onus will be on you to ensure that there are sufficient funds available. You will be liable for any amount not paid by your medical aid.
Cash, EFT or card payments are also welcomed, you will be able to claim a majority of the fee back from your medical aid

What are your working hours?
My general working hours are as follows:
Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 17:30
Friday 8:00 – 15:00

What is your cancellation policy?
All sessions that are missed or cancelled less than 24hrs in advance will be charged for at the full rate. Please note that most medical aids will not reimburse you for these sessions.
